We cannot underestimate the challenge of prejudice and cynicism that exists in the wider world towards those who become dependent on drugs and alcohol, often at very young ages. Addicition and dependency is not well understood, and often, unfairly, is considered a matter of choice or weakness.
Addaction was founded on the charitable values of caring for people who became dependent on drugs and alcohol and needed help.
What kind of people work for Addaction?
While you may have a substance misuse background, you could equally be from a social care, counselling, or nursing background. You may be a graduate looking for an organisation where you can use your knowledge and develop your skills. Remember, if you bring some relevant skills and passion, we’ll teach you the rest.
Not that we’re only interested in people who want to work with our clients. Addaction is an organisation of over 650 employees requires an administration and support function and we have Finance, Human Resources, Communications, Fundraising and Development & Improvement departments, as well as project administration and area data administration positions. While these people don’t work directly with clients, without these functions Addaction would not be the success story it is.
Join us, and see how great it is to work for an organisation that is making a difference.
